Dumfries Ice Bowl was host to the inaugural Matt Murdoch Memorial Mixed Doubles event in November 2023. 24 teams of Scotland's finest young curlers took to the ice in this dynamic Olympic discipline with the opportunity to travel to Sweden to take place in the NJCT Mixed Doubles Championship on the line. Some athletes were experienced Mixed Doubles players, and others enjoyed their first experience of the format in this highly competitive event.

MMCF were thrilled to work with Scottish Curling and Dumfries Curling to deliver this event, which was supported by sponsor HydrateM8.

The 2024 Champions were Eva Hare and Ethan Brewster, defeating Robyn Mitchell and Jack Strawhorn in the final. Eva and Ethan were presented with a brand new trophy, generously donated by Marion Murdoch, wife of the late Matt.

Eva and Ethan were excellent ambassadors for MMCF and Scotland at the NJCT Mixed Doubles Championship, where they were supported by coach and MMCF Chair Nancy Smith.

MMCF looks forward to working with our partners to deliver this event in future seasons, providing Scotland's young curlers with high quality competitive experiences on home soil.
